I’ve now seen enough of these on my “daily” to state this unequivocally: wild turkeys do not practice “social distancing.”

Piseco Road with HilltopperNY . . .

. . . this past Tuesday.

Incredible ride north of Stratford, NY, on Piseco Road, which goes from Stratford up to Piseco along East Canada Creek in the southern Adirondacks. Adam rode his Specialized Highball hardtail and I borrowed his Trek Stache 5 fat bike for a trial run.

This seasonal road is not yet open for the summer. After seeing the washout damage in several spots, I think it may just stay closed this year, considering what the Covid pandemic must be doing to the state budget.

We ended up doing a bit over 18 miles out and back as we enjoyed the beautiful weather and quiet wilderness. Not much green yet, but still plenty of beautiful scenery, as you can see. The trial run on the Stache easily convinced me to buy it from him, so now I'm a fat bike owner!

That blue Trek is perhaps the most boring ride I've ever seen you on.

Let me tell you something....if I have a genie in front of me right now that will answer my every command, that's the first thing I will ask him to do, to teleport me over and go ride with y'all. I am serious.

Last Sunday:

(1) San Francisco from Mt. Tam. You have to squint or enlarge the photo, but it's there.

(2) Ron Cooper taking a breather on the San Quentin side of San Rafael Bridge on the way back from Tam to Oakland. Head winds on the bridge in both directions, as always.

shakedown ride in the books. few tweeks necessary, but overall very pleased.

damn you USPS for losing my fork though. Still need to find something a little better visually, although the Reynolds fork rides brilliantly.
