* real name: Mark Hespenheide
* live: rural central Utah, at 6000', with a relative scarcity of paved roads.
* age: 39
* occupation: high school science/math teacher
* favorite bike: LeMond Ti
* stable: LeMond "Victoire" Ti, Lemond Poprad (set up for gravel/dirt roads), Paramount PDG (lugged steel handbuilt in Japan), Specialized S-Works Tricross, '94 Kona "Hei Hei" Ti mountain bike, '92 Ritchey "Ultra" (set up for by four-block commute and for around town)
* fastest sustained speed on a road bike: six miles in 8.5 minutes, descending Mount Baldy (of the Tour of California fame), 1996.
* how many miles ON THE ROAD on a road bike last year: not nearly enough, as I split my time riding, running, and backpacking.
* picture of yourself or your ride? Don't really have one...I'll see what i can scan
* most famous cyclist you've "ridden" with: back in '90, I nominally raced USCF district championships (as a junior) against George Hincapie. He, of course, beat everyone else handily, and has no idea who I am. But we got to race on a course that was later included as part of the Tour de Trump, where I got to see LeMond, Davis Phinney, Viatcheslav Ekimov, and some other notables racing on "my" terrain. And, although I don't live there anymore, it's cool to watch the Tour of California go up Glendora Mountain Road and the Mount Baldy road, where I used to train back in my college days.

Guess I'm not as smart as I thought . . .

I thought I'd heard of everything but never heard of Zunow or Quiros. Looked them up and they are really nice bikes. Is that the Quiros you're on in the pic?--can't see the drivetrain but with no brakes I assume that's it.

We've ridden together!

Hey, Len,

You and I rode together when I lived in Easton about 6 years ago. We talked about Cambridge, Inc and I rode an Eisentraut. Great to see you here.

Dave
