The us versus them ideology is what is tearing us apart.

Do we really need to bring that into our little cycling fetish?

Coincidentally, wasn't it the VSalon who (at least temporarily) had the forum programmed so that any post containing the word "brifters" would have that word replaced by "trombone trombone trombone trombone trombone trombone"?

“Brifters” used to be verboten along with off-topic items and some other things. In the downward spiral department, relaxing these rules alienated some longtime members while enforcing them probably alienated others. At the end of the day, forums as a category is declining and if V-Solon disappears it’s understandable. If it lives on for the few folks who enjoy it, that’s fine too.

I think Josh used to set up a post with the reader’s user name in the title every once in a while. It fooled me every time.

+1...not everyone thrives in the spotlight, which is why faceless comments are to be taken at face(less) value.

Crappy behavior is what tears us apart and polarization is necessary for progress.

The Salon exists because some people who post here regularly think it's OK to externally route a Di2 kit. Someone should hold them accountable

Long live the Salon

Swoop, who created a thread (what color should I paint my xyz frame?) specifically to surreptitiously use the Serotta forum to advertise a different bike frame brand...

I really enjoyed the builders forum, where people into or getting into frame building could share questions and intelligent responses.

Friday night lights was great also in its prime where numerous framebuilders showed their projects.

that was the best part for sure.

this forums' production and custom galleries has picked up a lot of that, which is great for members here.

I'm in agreement without a stupid emoji.
Years of knowledge gained from both sites.
Thank you to both.
