I've used Bkool for quite a while. I like to ride with virtual 'others' of varying speed; I get super bored riding alone in a simulation, and Bkool offers that. They used to use Bots of a few different kinds and now you can ride with/against recorded rides of real people.

The increase/decrease in resistance seems to follow the scenarios well. Sometimes trees and such will appear right in the middle of the road until you go through them.
I've been on MW since the start. It was really iffy at first, but the price was right. It has improved immensely, but will still have an annoying glitch pop up (usually after updates). Most annoying is you CAN NOT delay an upgrade. If it needs it, you do it or you don't ride. A surprise update when time is tight is really annoying.
If you want the social aspect, it isn't anywhere close to Zwift. Maybe it will be, but not yet. I've noticed several groups on Zwift also have MW chapters.
There are others on the road, some real, some bots, so you are not out there totally by yourself. There is a large variety of "places" to ride. I usually do the flat stuff because I'm doing workouts in ERG, and crawling up a hill while in Z2 annoys me to no end. Did the same on Zwift, though.
I like it, it works, and it is (mostly) free. You don't have to pay for 90% of it and frankly I don't know what I'd get for that last 10% by buying a "Season Pass".
I think it is important to know who is behind MW. It is out of the UAE, and the charge of Sportswashing has been made. Maybe, but if so it's not doing anything that I can see.
I like it, I use it, I only miss the group rides happening every hour or less on Zwift, but that's not worth whatever it is a month now to me.

It's a pretty well established fact that MW is sport-washing, that is why it is free.
I am not saying one shouldn't use it, that isn't for me to say, but at least one should be aware of it.

IndieVelo looks interesting. Do you have to race, can you just go on rides? I just want to ride around, maybe with some bot riders or whatever to keep me company.

Rouvy first impressions

Kinda liking it.

More than anything - it is very stable. When you load a “course” to get the training between commitments, it generally does not hang.

Today I tried - for the first time - a real “training” workout vs. riding up a mountain or something. I did find I had to increase the resistance (% of FTP) here and there to keep the watts where I was supposed to be.

I tried using the “shifter” buttons on the SB20 to get there, but these did not work the same way they worked on the climby courses (i.e. shift down > resistance reduces)…maybe I’m doing it wrong?

In any case, I look forward to exploring this ecosystem. Even the ghost riders are growing on me.
