They are totally different to the 515 ones.
The concentriccycling referral upthread has some stuff for 7 series

I do think it would be neat if there were a seatstay mount, but for that to happen, you would need to overcome the upward angle of seatstays because the Varia is designed to mount vertically and face perpendicular to the road.
I messed up. I meant seat stay.

I used one of the aero adapters for a while. It works, sort of. You need to flip the mount over, as the slant of the seat stay is roughly the opposite of the seat tube/seat post. It rotated too much though, as there isn't much contact between the adapter and the stay. Except for the tendency to rotate, it actually points in pretty much the right direction. In my experience, the Varia has a pretty wide angle view of your surroundings.

Slight configuration change this morning. I rode my Griffon, which has tubulars, so the Varia seatpost mount wasn't an option. I moved the modified Varia mount from my Fuji (see earlier post), then swapped the rubber seatpost adapter for the aero adapter. It was rock solid the entire ride. I'm guessing the more robust attachment helped, four corners w/two o-rings instead of the very sketchy one o-ring mount. Apologies for the focus issue. It was right after my ride, bright sun and I still had my shades on, so couldn't review the pic very well.

Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but the stock Garmin mount has a little slot you can run a zip tie through for extra security along with the rubber bands. Works for me.

I use those when a mount isn't supposed to move. I have approximately ten bikes though and have to move mounts from one bike to another pretty frequently.

tusita mount

I use this: https://www.amazon.com/TUSITA-Quarte...dp/B097XS7SFF/

I've tried other cheaper ones but this one is noticeably better made and have worked well on all my 27.2 seatposts.

I have one of those. It touches the inside of my left thigh. I'm too OCD for that.

thanks for the recommendation on the concentric cycling mounts.
They really are a big improvement esp for the 715 and non round posts like Colnago
The lower profile does allow you to run it a bit higher for better functionality.

Here is a before and after on my wife's bike

Ditto.
My Concentric cycling mounts just arrived today. Can't wait to try it out.
Looks high quality, nice finish, no play/slop, no burrs.

kom atop

i've been happy with the kom atop quick release ('boa-like' dial) mount.
not as secure as the bolt on mounts, but quick and easy to move between bikes.
i use a section of used innertube as a sleeve between wires of mount and posts to help secure it in place (dial only gets so tight and on alloy posts it can still slide around if riding on rough surface).

Bringing this thread back to life.
I need a new Saddle bag anyhow, so I was looking at the KOM Cycling saddle bag with the integrated Varia mount.
Does anyone use it?
Is it good? it looks pretty cool on paper.

Varia Mounts

I bit the bullet and got (at the recommendation of the PL hive brain) a few of the Concentric mounts. They are sweet. Perfectly sized for my 27.2 seatpost - no need for a shim, nice and low profile. And a solid mount to boot. That Varia is going nowhere! Depending on the clearance with the saddle bag I either mount the light up or down.

I ride with someone who has a Varia mounted on their saddle bag - not sure what brand. But as the saddle bag bounces around a little, it also bounces.

For me, I prefer the solid mount to the seatpost. The challenge is clearance etc., and that is where the Concentric ones come in.

Thanks all!
