I have an Ekar build coming that is all original Ekar with GT shifters as I understand the ergonomics improved
Good to know. I'll have to look into that. I don't mind the feel of the current hoods, so what I don't know won't tempt me, but lower gears? Yep.

You can use the GT RD with the OG shifters. I have a new build coming that has the set-up close to this - EKAR GT with a 10-44 cassette but with EKAR OG shifters and crank. This setup drops 183 grams from the EKAR OG (real world weight of pieces selected). I will have an EKAR GT RD for future use as well.

Well, I did until today.

I picked up a set of 650B wheels and installed them on my Watia. Found that the chain is too short for the 42 low (40 on the other wheels).

Switched back to the original wheelset and shifting has gone to ****.

Won't shift gear to gear, has to move multiple clicks before chain moves.

Not sure what I buggered by temporarily putting the other wheelset on, but now the bike has three usable gears, none predictable. <sigh> Time to do some debugging.
