It's good to hear some positive sentiments. Let's look at the accomplishments:

1. Cofounded PayPal, an escrow company for secure online money transactions with over 400 million users.
2. Cofounded Tesla, first viable electric transportation manufacturer, disrupting the transportation industry to create a more sustainable future that avoids fossil fuels.
3. Cofounded Tesla Energy, solar power and large scale battery storage provider, eliminating the intermittency of wind and solar power, allowing wider adoption of renewable power generation.
4. Founded SpaceX, first viable commercialization of space, with nearly 400 successful launches with reusable spacecraft.

Any *one* of these would guarantee Musk a place among the great inventors and industrialists. I'm still a fan.

Not gonna buy no crypto, though...

Are you serious? Talk about barriers to entry!

I had zero interest before, because...Musk...Now I have even less.
On the off chance that anyone was actually going to try to buy into this, I just want to make clear that this token (or any other Tesla related cryptocurrency/token/coin) has absolutely no affiliation to the actual company and should probably be avoided. It only takes a few clicks for someone to spin up a token like this on ETH/SOL and nearly all are jokes, scams or both. Nothing stopping me from deploying a contract for Campy Coin, Paceline Points, or $SHIMANO.

Tesla seem to be common targets for this type of impersonation scam (or 'tribute' as their creators would probably call them) but thats probably because Musk makes himself an easy target for it by regularly giving hat tips for 'doge coin' and other pyramid schemes, pump and dumps, and pointless currencies.

Anyways, stay away! Go buy the actual stock if you must.

I’m a fan of these achievements as well. I think the real genius behind the Tesla brand, and I have no idea if this was Musk or whomever on his team, is the Supercharger network. Classic chicken and egg situation. Without high-speed DC fast charging the brand never takes off. But build it and they will come. The other manufacturers still haven’t figured this out. The Tesla solution is incredibly seamless and has been in place and growing since the first Teslas hit the road.

My issue is his impulsiveness and his impulsive and occasionally offensive commentary on things that aren’t his business. I’ll leave it at that. And speaking of impulsive, Twitter is a shell of its former self. Not that I care because I’m not a user but the amount he paid for that and what it’s worth now doesn’t lead me to believe he’s as smart as he thinks he is.

But I’ll grant that someone at Tesla and Space X does impressive work. I don’t know how much of this is his vision and how much of it is the work of others, but both have been, as the word goes, disruptive.

I always thought his super power was to eat at the trough of Gov subsidies while professing to be a true believe in Ayn Rand.

I can admire Henry Ford who started Ford Motor Co, the assembly line etc.
I can loathe Ford the owner and publisher of the Dearborn Independent.

Musk is the same.

There are certainly parallels.

I think the operative term here is "SOL"!

I will admit that investing in some crypto scheme that may or may not be connected to Tesla (or anyone) is a silly idea. Now, tell me about all your buddies that made millions by doing it.

To paraphrase David Mamet:
“In a scam, if you can’t identify who the mark is, it’s probably you.”

Many buying decisions are based on how you may like or not like the company/owner, their ethos, attitude, maybe even their politics.

I have that list, of products I wouldn't buy because of the above. Like it or don't....it exists, at least for me. You may find it silly but the above is what boycotts are all about.

Also throw in Starlink, the massive constellation of communication satellites. Then there’s the part about how they’ve launched the majority of everything in orbit, including all the launches done by governments around the world.

You may be right. It reminds me of wind turbines and solar farms. Not a fan of either. And we want electricity to run the world (including electric cars).
