Race video from April 12th, finally finished it. I actually win, which is unusual, and not in a pure sprint, which is even more unusual.

Riding with a friend who's new to the road after having spent years mountain biking. He's loving it!

Yesterday morning's ride. It felt like a San Diego day with sunny skies and light winds. How I miss my time there.

I think it's been a couple of years since I've done this loop into Wisconsin. Tuesday was a beautiful day to be out riding!

My Mukluk has served me well for the past 3.5 years but it was time we parted. I'd been looking for something a little lighter with front suspension and I found it in the form of a carbon-fiber Sarma Shaman. It's such a fun ride and as I tell others about fat-bike riding: the bikes are time-machines. They'll take you back and allow you to find the 15 year old residing inside you longing to come out.

Sarma, Shaman, 2
by Kevin Gilmore, on Flickr

This first video is from my 2nd ride on it. I'd never ridden in tall grass like this but the bike made easy work of it.

The 2nd video was from yesterday afternoon. I'd planned to go out walking for a few hours but my Shaman was begging me to take it to the trails.

Thank you one-pal, enjoyed it, looks like one of those machines that can take you anywhere you want to go.

You reminded me of a couple of rides I recorded recently. One is a local group ride I did two Saturdays ago, called and the other is just around my immediate neighborhood called where I captured the dramatic sunset that appeared after several days of non-stop raining.

Looks really nice, Weisan! A nice group of friends and a beautiful day to ride. What more can one ask for?

Thanks for taking the time to share.

I'm really loving a ride I've been doing lately. It's a 21 mile loop out to Murphy Hanrehan park 6 miles from my home. There are 9 miles of single-track there that challenge this road guy in many ways.

Up until a few years ago I knew nothing about mountain biking or these trails. It's a whole other world of riding and it has me excited to get on my bike in ways I haven't felt for years. I like to say that my fat-bike is like a time-machine. You can't ride it and not feel like you're 15 again.

Shot by my buddy Brad a couple weeks ago. I make an appearance in the rear camera about 50 seconds in, with the black/green kit and the high-vis green heeled Giro shoes. We're chasing down a break on the local early morning hammer ride.
