1:1, roughly, in current market value..

.038 in if-they-were-new/current-model value..

.18 in what-i-pait value

10:1 car to bike.

Anyone want to wager how tall and what size the owner of AC is and rides?
Chad has custom frames and likes 'em long n low (at least from the pics of his rides ,, lots of drop (like Ryun) ... I believe he would ride a 52 IF he went "stock"
I believe he's 5' 6" or a little smaller ...

I wonder why it’s 21k vs the 16k of a non- King version? It is 9200, so I stand corrected- just difficult to tell the two apart

$10,000 bike to $0 car (i.e., none)

What do I win?

I'm guessing 1:9

Maybe my new Strong is worth $4K? And the MSRP of my 2021 Bolt was a touch over $36K.

In terms of purchase price, it's a different story.

Strong $8K, Bolt $22K after rebates and discounts and state EV subsidy, so under 1:3

But the real story is that is the car my wife drives. My car is a 2008 Honda Fit, 113K miles, and it's worth less than the bike. Which has always been my objective, best bike should be worth more than the car!

I'm at two $10K bikes and no car! Although I have a long list of vintage automobiles I dream about!

Well, you can find average neighborhood houses costing 2.5 mill pretty much anywhere alongside the peninsula. You really lose perspective on the value of things around here, given the stratospheric salaries and prices

This post makes considering a new Perazzi seem pretty darn reasonable. THANKS!

If I wasn’t the fastest guy in the state, then I’d be embarrassed to ride something that expensive. Even then, it’s crazy. Things have jumped the shark, though people will still justify it through some convoluted logic.

Agreed. A 105 equipped production bike is all anyone really needs. But I have a 50 year campy half addiction / half irrational loyalty that I can't kick!

And I'm not the only one!

Those are gorgeous bikes, but the pricing is a bit sickening. Its like when an algorithm on Amazon says they'll sell you a Maxxis Minion tire for $368.75.

Do people actually pay this? Or is it actually AC selling through Amazon to boost profits ;?

What does being fast have to do with it? These bikes aren't about going fast, they're about looking good and savoring craftsmanship. The fastest guys in the state (Neilson Powless? Christopher Blevins? Justin Williams?) are all riding team bikes from their sponsors.

Above Category caters to bike aficionados who want something special, and might spend more on a bottle of wine than they do on their bicycle. But being fast is completely irrelevant.

I see quite a few bikes on the road that are approaching some of the prices.
