First video I've seen. Still think the naming convention makes little sense. They should just stick with Record like they did with the mech group.

Looks aside I like the available crankset options.

So first blush looks like the pro team setup would be the super record wrl with the 54/40 chainrings on the using the S front derailleur which also gets the stiffer all alloy cage.
Sounds like the S crankset isn't hollow or ti and 150 grams extra isn't nothing. Not too many places on an electronic setup to really trim costs besides the cranks and maybe some of the materials in the derailleurs. really curious if the current rear derailleur will work with the 32t cassette. |

All that black fiber stuff
looks like Mirage 10 speed, I would rather have Chorus 12 and not electric.

Superior to what? For the record, no pun intended, I’ve used Campy for years but went to SRAM with a new bike two years ago. Just as with their first index shifting groups they seemed to have missed the mark IMO. This S group is just SR WRL with some cheaper materials and a different finish. I think they should have named it Chorus and lowered the price even more.

Assume this is only available for disc brakes, yes? No rim brake option?

Yes. Which I guess makes the brakes wireless as well (hydraulic fluid instead of a wire cable).

Looks nice to me design wise.

I daydreamed about a semi-mullet setup using the 45/29 crankset and mechanical 12 speed, since those groupsets' RDs support up to 34. Campy says "not compatible" but Ryun was kind enough to assemble such a setup and said it worked well. |
