I never comment on fancy car threads as I drive a 2007 Hyundai Tucson (that I love) but this BMW catches my eye as interesting design. The panoramic roof looks neat in photos, but must be hot in the summer and I imagine it would be dizzying to have that much visual stimulation while driving at 100km/hr. I think I would get overwhelmed inside it at high speeds.
That black wagon is my speed - that is what I would love to drive if money were no object ! |

Also I thought BMW was selling a ton of cars, at least any M car good luck finding one, they are all sold out with months out to get one... Not that I want another, the new stuff drives amazing but its heavy and not the look I am into |

Why don't you list all those brands that had sales growth greater than 50% from 2022 to 2023?

If one Googles "bmw m3 grille fix" you get lots of hits for aftermarket improvements.
When, say, the 2002 first came out in 1966 I wonder how many buyers drove their new baby to the body shop and said "Hans, you have to fix the front end for me - I just can't live with it." Last edited by Louis; 09-03-2023 at 03:46 AM. |

I worked for BMW in Munich for a while BITD. I have a very hard time looking at new ones. They seem to have lost their way.

Being a brand new 'butter bar' in flight school...early 1973...3 guys I knew all trundled down to the BMW dealer in Pensacola and all bought brand new 2002tii's.
They wanted me to be number 4..I was the only guy who was married. Along the way, we all drove a Lotus Elan and Lotus Europa(BMW/Lotus dealer). BUT, I didn't. Kick myself to this day. I 'might' have even kept it.

If the monster grills and then this monstrosity are the future of BMW, I will say -- unequivocally -- that I really miss Bangle Butt.

There's an Europa for sale at a local antique store, a real beauty. If I was a halfway decent mechanic I'd snatch it up. |

they need to continually drop their drag coefficient and complete with Elon. Their market isn't the heritage group, new buyers... Also need to keep up with the MPG goals and of course e-distance

Bmw is selling a ton of cars, they know their new market and its not this site demographic. Younger audience likes the new bigger grills for the most part, the older crowd that doesn’t and can afford it moves to porsche. Last edited by R3awak3n; 09-03-2023 at 10:38 AM. |

Just some random thoughts:
1) I've been driving old, circa 1990s, BMWs and Mercedes for 20 years. That was a period when each brand had a distinctive look, i.e., the BMW overbite. Now, to me, they now all look like Hondas. 2) Form should follow function. EVs shouldn't have grills. It's really a bad fake. That's one of the things Tesla got right. 3) Aerodynamics is crucial to EV range. That's the function that should control. 4) Lamborghini's version. https://www.gearpatrol.com/cars/a448...nzador-design/ |

More classic BMW compared to the monster grilled versions above!
Wonder if they'll still charge $2k for the LED light package? |
