Don't know. It was 20+ years ago on vacation. Trolley cars going up and down the hill near the wharf, if I recall correctly. So looking at a map, it's quite possible.

J&H is on Hyde Street, not that close to Alamo Square Park. Hence the cable cars. But there are a hundred liquor stores like it, on every other corner.

Ha I definitely bought many a 6 pack there, my girlfriend, now wife, lived a block away in the Keystone apt building.

On a personal note related to this tangent, I moved late last year, and the small local grocer/liquor store/deli/gas station has at least two types of whoopie pies and multiple versions of flavored moonshine.
What's that phrase? Oh yeah - "forever home".

I fixed the error in my post. They're whoopee pies, not moon pies. Don't ask me what the difference is, but I'm sure someone here knows.
