Bought a Theragun Elite about three months ago. It's a great addition to my stretching routine, in which I use a foam roller for years. I wish I could pound my lower back as well as somebody else can, but, I can reach a lot of spots on the body well. If you're concerned about the price, do the math compared to a massage session or four.

I have this one and love it.
At $80 you just can't go wrong either. https://www.amazon.com/Massager-Deep...3&s=hpc&sr=1-2

I have a Theragun Prime, the stick, and a foam roller. Nothing beats the roller for IT band stuff -- the pillar of pain. However I always have calf issues in the spring and early summer due to tightness and cramps. The Theragun has been the only thing that's worked. It really does an awesome job of loosening things up.

Don't ignore the hamstrings when dealing with the calves.

Like others, I use a combination of tools for muscle work and fascia release. The theragun is great, but along with a stick, foam roller, and some good glute/ham activation exercises, I've been riding pain free in those areas for a while.
This is a great routine (got it from a FasCat training plan) for working on glute/ham/lower back, I find it's really good. https://stream.foundationtraining.co...tegoryId=17195 |

I opted for this one:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
$40 off, 26K reviews, 85% 5 star (so SOME have to be real). I'll report back after I use it a few times. |

I tried one recently and nope they do nothing for me, I prefer a real pair of hands on me...
PS: I'm a massage therapist. |

I'd prefer that, too. I have a very good one but I can't afford daily or even weekly visits. Nothing beats a good MT working their magic.

Those things are useless.
I walked into the bank and screamed "ON THE FLOOR" and people just stared. I ordered the teller to "put it in the bag....you know what to do", and she smiled turned around and pointed to her neck and upper back and said thank you so much my shoulders are really tight. I need to rethink this whole thing. |

Hypervolt. Works wonders, occasionally makes my eyes water if I pinpoint a knotted up mess.
That and a lacrosse ball are my go to. Last edited by 54ny77; 04-08-2021 at 09:40 AM. |

Love my Theragun! The ergonomic handle helps to get to get the right angle. I also use a Triggerpoint roller and ball.

I also stretch a lot. A foam roller helps. But a massage gun is more effective. I usually use my massage gun with the knots and it helps. My friend has a hypervolt and he loves it. It's a little expensive for me, so I chose one Urikar Pro 2 massage gun at a discounted price and it turns out to be great. Powerful, easy to hold. $49.99.
There are so many massage guns on Amazon at a pretty decent price, but I am not sure if they are well-built and can last long. |
