Straight on would have been way better , like you said slight push from the side almost put me in the cornfields a couple times. On the plus side averaged about 22 on the way home heading east and north.

Most excellent day.

I really dislike riding on really windy days and most of the time it is NOT a tailwind. But don't you just love it when it is and you're flying at 18-20MPH. I always for at least a few minutes start to think, "shoot I AM getting stronger". Then I have to turn around and realize what a dunce I really am.

Same place as last week. The ride has the same normalized power, but I felt so much better. I just see the power numbers as a frame of reference since I’ve gotten addicted to data. Still, the point of the ride is to ride. I’m really appreciating having a 32 on the back now. It lets you think it’s easier because you’re spinning a bit more.

Great gravel ride yesterday . . .

Yesterday was my 20th ride of 2020, but it's the first one where I could truly look at the weather and the temperatures and be able to say "Spring is here!"

I met friends John and Steve at S&S Farm Brewery just east of Nassau, and we headed off on what turned into 25 miles of beautiful weather and scenery. The brewery was only open later in the afternoon for growler refills, but the owners are incredibly nice and don't mind if we park there for rides.

Roads were in good shape and grass is greening, though we only saw a few a few flowers popping out so far, including the trout lilies in the photo. Plus forsythias are all popping out into yellow splotches on the landscape.

Steve obligingly got a shot of me on Pratt Road, and he also pointed out this snake as we rode past, so I stopped to get up close and personal. That's John riding across the bridge over the New York State Thruway, which was deserted on a Sunday afternoon. Kinda spooky.

Also Steve riding up the hill away from the antique Spangler Road bridge over Kinderhook creek, and John riding across the bridge. Also John meeting Uncle Sam in Old Chatham.

Huge thanks to both of them for being so patient as I got photos at various points in the ride!

Awesome pics!

Can't wait to be up there riding myself, Dave.

Looks like the new place for me will be in Hillsdale...mid-June.

More "rides" with my daughter.

She can do 5k balance bike "rides", as long as we see ducks and go to the "ocean".

Photos from yesterday. Wind blowing in about every direction but strangely enough never felt a tail wind the entire day. Out again on the Merckx.

Beautiful night for a ride.

This working from home every day could catch on...

As mentioned elsewhere, the air quality and visibility over NYC are at record highs as far as i can remember,

I don't comment here as often as I flip through the photos, but these images of emerging spring are good for the soul--particularly on days when life keeps one off of the bike.

More than ever I am grateful for the chance to get out and move ion this beautiful world.

Some photos from today's ride:
