That's what I did.

A friend owns a local shop and he set me up.

Made all the difference.

FWIW I ride 80% mtb trails/gravel and never have Clean's issues.

Might be well worth his while.

Almost 50F here today! 12 recovery miles around the state forest bike path on the '88 Nagasawa road trainer, after 5 hours the past two days on the Firefly. I think this is the first time I have ridden this bike since I got the AFO brace, and being able to stand on the pedals when one only has one gear is a big advantage

you may not like it aesthetically, but i see all of your bikes are set-up with copious amounts of drop, which may not provide an ideal fit for you. if your hands and wrists are taking a brunt of load and shock absorption, something is, IMO - off.

i'd go back and do some reading on older posts from Ed TiDesigns about "falling on your pedals" and human tendency to balance weight on the hands on a bike. his theories helped me a little over the years.

none of that is meant as a criticism, just food for thought and maybe help.

Thanks for the thoughts. The pain (and it's lingering still today) seems more correlated with surface and bar shape than drop, and the graveler I was riding yesterday had barely any drop either, but the whole package needs looking into. Fortunately, I have a combo PT/Fitter here in Portland that should be able to help me out - I just need to get in there. I'm also going to spend some time with Ed's posts and his site. In addition to the hand thing, I get numb toes and other similar issues on long climbs or any time where I'm not getting out of the saddle frequently - and I don't think it's a saddle thing - could be the shoes, again, hard to tell. I'm also someone who's hands go numb very quickly off the bike - radiating nervey feelings down into my pinky and ring fingers - I think I could have some more serious issues than I'm admitting to....maybe from spending years as a goalkeeper at a pretty high level in my formative years...maybe from too many years working on laptops and sitting at desks.. Dunno. But I can't keep ignoring it and expecting it to get better.

Hampsten Strada Bianca titanium bike with fenders for 25 miles on a nice sunny 45 degree day in the North Country. Still a lot of snow melting on to the roads. Some miles are nice and dry, and others are just soaking with runoff. Nice time for fenders. Bike is still filthy. But I'm not.

When I found the frames for $700, plus freight, I couldn't pass it up. I sold my 16 year old look for $250, so it only cost me about $500 to upgrade the frame. Both have the same chorus 12 drivetrains.

Glad I kept the moots for days like today. A nice 32km ride with lots of spray and some muck.

Unfortunately, I am now a princess and the pea and noticed every little thing about fit that I cant resolve as compared to my sv. Also 25s sure are small and make for a rough ride on pot holed roads.

Prayers from Reverend Crank N Pedal were answered. Overcast morning and early afternoon gave way to blue sky and 50*.

Greater juju is needed to turn 2/3's of the areas population into rolling hills, mountains and back roads. So, you get another boring garage door shot.

Did a quick 20 miler today despite knowing that my legs were knackered from 1.5 hour tennis workout. It was just too nice and plus I had my new bike to dial-in. This is a small lake in Kinnelon NJ, which is part of my 20 mile loop; I'm not sure what this stone house is - perhaps a pump station?

I ride this loop so often that sometimes I take for granted how pretty the ride is.
