Yeah, this has always been an odd thing to see on bike message boards. Why quote all the pics over and over?

Oh well.

The short answer: either 1) too lazy, or 2) don't know how the internet works.

Merckx MXL. This model should be in Top 10, or Top 20, at least.

This is mine and will be headed to paint shortly. Sachs ÃœOS tubes & lugs with a monostay. Paired with an Enve 1.0 fork and will be built up with Record 10.

Truth.

^ had to type this since no 'like' button exists on PL in 2024.

Saw this on Paul's blog. Can't wait to see the final painted product.

Thanks I should have everything together in a couple months. Paul did a fantastic job, and it'll be really cool to rock a lugged lobster.

That looks great! I had no idea PS did lugged construction-all of his bikes that I have seen have been TIG welded. How will you have it painted?

It's going to Dark Matter on Paul's recommendation. Lapis blue metallic with an off-white HT. I think TIG is just what Paul got known for over the years, but he's very much the type of builder that's open to doing anything you'd like, as opposed to some other builders that take a very "prix fixe" approach.

I'm just excited to have a lugged monostay road bike - the last one I had was a "Proctor Townsend", back in 2010(?), which was too small for me and built of Reynolds 753, giving it all the stiffness of spaghetti.
