My son entered his first MTB race on Thursday! I just happened to see on FB that Freewheel Bike Shop puts these races on every Thursday in the summer. He also met his buddy from Cyclocross there too. He has asked me 4 or 5 times when the next race is since then! Man I wish I had a MTB now!!! (Yes, I will build myself a MTB frame )

New white bar tape and bar (thanks Clean) and predictably the ride ended in a torrential downpour. Got this pick before the crap weather set in.

There might be tons of bikes out there that are megaton kilo lighter than this, 30 years younger and probably 10 times more expensive, but none smoother and nicer, or even better lookin'!

I did the Challenge Ride in the Armed Forces Cycling Classic yesterday, with about 1200 of my closest friends. Basically a 6.5-mi loop on closed roads around Crystal City, the Pentagon and Arlington Cemetery, complete as many loops as you can in 3 hours.

Try some Vittoria or Veloflex cotton tires (and latex tubes) ;-)
You will see another difference (the conti are harsch compared to them).
