The problem with wagon sales in the US are the short-sighted dealerships.

Dealers only want mid/high trim suv's. They don't want to inventory something that has less sales and less profit.

The dealers only ask for the suv's and nothing else. Audi, BMW are okay with that because the margins on a Q3 or X1/X3 is far more than a A4 Avant that will sit on a dealer lot for a lot more days.

I'm really bummed the A4 Avant is gone, and we will never see the new Kia or Hyundai wagons. Such a bummer....

I ended up getting a 2014 Jetta TDI SportWagen with Nav and Sunroof. I guess that's the model name.

Seems to have lots of features for a car this price and should work well for me, so fingers crossed. 16,500 miles for $13,900 ($32,000 new) The thing looks brand new. Certified pre-owned and a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty with new Pirelli tires and not much wear on the brakes. Full filter and oil change etc. I don't know much about cars but I decided that's a pretty good deal. I still always feel like I've been cheated when I buy a car but whatever. It's like a casino IMO. House wins.

It has some black "upgrade" wheels that the dealer wants to straighten for me after asking them about some rattling and vibration. Can this be done with alloy wheels or is that BS? I'm going back tomorrow for them to perform this and address the noisy headliner and door panels. Is this a feature of these cars? A bit on the buzzy/noisy side according the experts on the internet? I can deal as long as what I'm hearing is just panels which it sure sounds like.

Chicago seems to have a huge pile of wagons and a number of these TDI buyback deals going on. I hope to drive this thing long time. If it falls apart I blame all of you enablers :-)

Thanks, Sorry just realized how crummy that pic is. It's a front wheel drive automatic. It does have 18" wheels which the sales guy said was an upgrade. I have no idea if it is :-)

I like

Love our Audi Allroad (1 month) just inch taller than the Avant and 1inch taller roofline to put boats and bikes on than our old saab wagon.

Nice, enjoy! That's a crazy deal. If two car seats fit in the back I could maybe convince my wife to go back to it!

Alloy wheels can often been straightened and made almost like new.

That wagon rocks! (They had to straighten the wheels on our CPO TSX wagon as well--not a biggie as people have said.)

and that is a good looking wheel as well. 17in is about perfect on these cars.

I have 18 and 17 and I feel the 17 rides better, lighter... but the 18 looks so good.

So, what did they do to it to make it emissions compliant? Add urea thingy?
