Got this out for a shakedown ride today and reaffirmed why I wanted one of these in 54cm for so long! Great riding bike!

Today's gravel grinder was brutal - windy AF, cold AF, and wet AF - maybe AndySTI took some photos - I got none.. He got the whole 103mi, I cut the course trying not to die and only got a little over 70mi done.

I found this note from my wifey tucked in my wallet when getting a post-ride burger n beer though, so I'll share that.

Clean pal, glad you survived, I know you are a very strong rider, so it must have be really hard, I like your wife's sweet note, she's a keeper.

Tour of MV

72 miles on the Firefly, or 115K. Just add about 6,000 more ft of elevation gain, and a lot of dirt road, and I'll have my D2R2 ride :-)
Photo from the north end of West Chop. For those who know the Vineyard, 72 miles means all six towns. Starting in West Tisbury, then Menemsha, Lobsterville, West Basin, the Cliffs, Moshup Trail, back through Chilmark and WT, coffe at Alley's, east to Morning Glory Farm then down aound Katama and up to Edgartown and more coffee at Espresso Love, along Beach Road to OB, around East Chop, over to Vineyard Haven and around West Chop, then home to West Tiz. Low 50Fs, sunny, breezy but not too bad. Not much traffic, esp. Up Island. Close to perfect!

Tried to get up toward Silver Star mountain in WA... but too early in the year. We hit a lot of snow ~9 or ~10 miles in. Pushed through it for a mile or so, and then gave up. Passed by a whole lot of informal gun ranges, heard more shots than I have ever heard on one ride.

What was the ride? It was a grim rainy day out there today.
