do you worry about the result of a really unexpected & unfortunate hit on pothole vs. a metal rim? Quote:

Amazing stuff here, as expected. ;)
Going to look at a ‘17 Yamaha SCR950, (with 240miles on it), tonight. Any thoughts from the cognoscenti?

The Paul Smart's the only Ducati that would still be on my list.
Such panache. |

so sweet. I would assume track only. guess it depends on where you ride though. I can't even imagine how fast this thing must be now.

Interesting fact...my bike is 37 years old and is the most modern motorcycle I've ever ridden in my life!

Agree. I like riding all different styles of bikes. I won't really tolerate a stretched out and high pegged racer for anything other than a track day anymore. However, the newer bikes with so much usable power and electronics (KTM 890R) are just a frigging hoot. Now, the KTM is not really a touring machine, but there's something just so fun about spirited riding.
I'm not talking about riding hell-bent for leather all the time. However, I nice handful of throttle on a bike with a solid powerplant is always a joy. I'd take something comfy like a Ducati Multistrada for touring....and a KTM for in-town/canyon strafings duties. |

SPP, I also owned an R80ST! Sweet bike and lightest of the boxers. Sold it to buy a Honda Hawk GT, then sold that to buy an SV650. Spent a year modifying that bike, then sold it after finding myself passing an 18 wheeler on RT 11 south of Claremont, NH and pulling back in doing 105 mph. My life expectancy increased the day that bike went away. No motos since, though I get the lust when I see or hear a Ducati. Had a 250 Duc Scrambler in high school.

The bike can do the speed limit.
Even a little more. That's pretty much all I need anyway. I would like to see what a more modern bike rides like...this one's 37 years old. Maybe next time Max BMW has a demo day I'll give it a whirl. Three state ride today (MA, CT, NY), about 75 miles, after a bike ride and a swim in the pond with the dogs, culminating with a farm fresh meat pickup at Pigasso Farm in Copake, NY June 27, 2021 by SPP™ SlowPokePete, on Flickr June 27, 2021 by SPP™ SlowPokePete, on Flickr SPP |

Sort of a combo of your bike..I had a Paul Smart and a 999r with BST wheels stolen out of my garage. Took a truck and the bikes. Left some other bikes. I guess the couldn’t get them in the truck!

Stopped raining for a couple hours and got out on the motorbike, then the clouds started rolling in again.
