Ha! I went over to Al's house to pick something up a few months ago. When I was standing in his living room, this frame caught my eye. Up close, the paint looks better than an original. He said, "you should have seen what this looked like when I got it!"

Still hacking away at the old French Stella as time allows. Yesterday I mounted the rebuilt crankset on it. This is a cruiser bike so I dropped it down to 46/30. Then I remounted the FD I had taken off to clean and service. I also removed the down tube mounted cable guide, cleaned and polished it, and then remounted in the proper position. The polished brakes were hung back on with a new set of vintage Shimano brake pads for now. Finally to removed the nasty old dried out tires, cleaned up the inside of the rims, and mounted on some new Pasela Panaracers, 27 x 1 1/4 size. Those are plush tires around 32mm wide.

Cockpit redux and fixing the defect Cardiff saddle on my city bike. I guess I should have been more careful with the pliers. No idea if that metal bracket will stay in place. Looking forward to trying out the bar ends.

Work bench rather than work stand.

@RudAwkning was nice enough to sell me a good condition STR rear mech, and anything worth doing is worth overdoing, so in go a set of bigger kogel wheels and ready for the road!

Not mine, but in my stand. It's for a PLF Member. Custom Bixxis Prima D11 frame in FF2600/RAL 3028- Ferrari Red with Metallic Silver graphics. And yes, I know my workshop is a mess. We are still remodeling/moving and everything is a disaster right now.

I'm looking to try similar bar ends 'inside' on a flat bar too - lmk how it works out for you ! Prefer the flat bar on technical off road, but ride to and from the park on some pavement and hoping to retain a 'on the hoods' position with something like that.

1993 Serotta Coors Light Team Bike, 63x60, 17.5HT - pretty sure it was Chris Huber's race bike for the season given the measurements and ~80mm BB drop. Built by Mr. Kirk. It was previewed here by another Paceline'r and Kirk aficionado but I grabbed it off eBay before making that connection. I bought it to ride it though, not to look at it - and potentially as a template for the Onesto I just got in the queue for for later this year or early next. So, gotta decide how to build it. Thinking 2015+ R11 and Shamal Ultra tubs - probably with 23s since the stays are pretty short n' tight (only 2mm w 25mm tubs shown). It's going to be fun to see how differently this rides and handles from my Sachs.

Cinelli and Marinoni

Got myself these two new toys.
Marinoni Special Columbus EL OS tubing
Cinelli Experience (new frameset)

Planning on throwing a brand new 105 groupset on Cinelli, along with some brand new matching Pro-lite Bortola wheels and it is going to look (and hopefully ride) awesome. I feel that I'll ride it for a short while and will sell.

Planning on stripping/sandblasting this Marinoni completely. Teaming up with an artist friend to get it custom painted. Still debating what kind of "bike painting" to go for. She has never worked with bike frames, but eager to experiment with the design... I wonder what we'll end up getting there, hehe.

Soon to be in workstand, Felt IA FRD Disc.
I've always built up my own bikes, but a little nervous with this one as I've never done hydraulics before...

This is the first time I've seen one first-hand. It is very similar to the 1996 CSI that I had year before last (the cha-ching green one) and of course the Colorado II I had before that, albeit with different geometry (lower BB and lower HT relative to TT length) and thankfully external brake routing. The DT looks to be swaged a bit differently too - hard to say. I'm wondering if that was done specifically for the rider? Maybe some day I'll be able to bring this up to Bozeman and get Dave's take on it in person.... see what memories it jogs. I also don't remember the chainstays being crimped the same way on the CSI. I'm very excited to get it out on the road - just waiting for some parts and now tires to complete it. The fork and fillet-brazed half-lugs are exceptionally gorgeous as well.. Though I may have to do something about the DA headset on a Campy-sponsored bike.

Waiting on a front hub for the DT Swiss 350 rear hub and DT Swiss XR331 wheel I just built. I hadn't realized that the XR331 was a hookless rim till I was done building the wheel!

Good thing it was going on a gravel bike!

Waiting on a pair of R470 rims for a Paul's SS/Fixed hubset that finally came in. They seem to be the only people building FW hubs for SS/Fixed that are thru axle so I jumped on them.

I'm going to try to set em up fixed on my FtW winter bike using a tensioner and the shortest chain I can get to work. Never tried it, so it may work. May not. We'll see.
