That Croll looks awesome.

I'm tinkering with a similar conversion to a Ritchey Ultra (and similar to the Rock Lobster) ... this is a nice nudge in that direction. Resurrecting old NORBA-era mountain bikes with fat slicks.

Lying on its side there, your Thrive looks for all the world like what old '80s mountain bikes looked like. Heck, some even had drop bars.

What was old is new again... and I couldn't be more thrilled. I think bikes like this are the best thing to happen to bike-riding since indexed shifters.

That was kind of the goal. Fire road and singletrack crusher that is still fun to ride on pavement and easy to maintain.

You know...it's not out of the question for me to land in your neck of the woods...you're making it mighty attractive...the only reason for me not to is the housing expense...it ticks every other box I've got...
