In days like these with 30 miles wind, I really appreciate having a gravel bike that allows me to go ride in the trails where I can get some wind block from the vegetation.

Started the ride at 31 degrees, then warmed up to 53 by mid ride, at least it wasn't blastin' 40-50 miles wind like yesterday. Great day to be out riding.

Lovely day after the rain storms cleared everything out of the basin.

Finally got a real ride in on the new MXL. Lovin' it.

Unbelievable how green it gets up there after a bunch of rain, too.

Also bought a Sim-Works Beatnik post for it, but after I took this pic.

Seeing snow in LA county is a bit of a novelty so I had to see it for myself; Camp 9 is my closest option. I'm coming up on a year with the Boulder All Road and I can confidently say it's the pinnacle of my bike collection over the years.

Looks like Lawrence Chapel off CR 473 in Williamson County, TX. Lots of great roads both paved and gravel in that part of CenTex. Coincidentally I too rode with Mr. Lockett (far left) the last time I passed that way a number of weeks ago.

Very nice. How far did you have to go from the turn off Little T before encountering snow?

Snow Day

So we have had some unexpected snow I decided to ride the rollers instead of outside. Then my chubby buddy showed up and wanted to go ride.

You are correct!

Speaking of Mr. Lockett...he wasn't so lucky that day. Had a sealant leak in his rear tire. I was riding right behind him and started noticing spots on my jacket, at first it was just small little spots and then I can see stuff spraying out of his rear tire, I got out of his line of fire and started yelling at him. He wasn't even aware. We stopped by the side of road and it seems at first the sealant wasn't able to stop the leak, it just kept ozzing out of the tire. Terrence got off and let out some air and it finally stopped. We scratched our heads, not sure why it did that. No time to figure that out, got back on our bikes and continued riding.

He was riding his single speed Lynskey and I think the tire was like 2.2 or something, it's huge.

And you started that ride at 31 degrees?! You are such a better man than I.
