Looks like the season is over.
Took the wrong fork up by that tree, wet leaves covering the roots & rocks. That clearing in the leaves was made by my chest. Managed to find my phone in the pile of leaves to take this photo. |

Bad photo, incredible ride.
Just under 70mi, 5,250ft climbs, gorgeous sunny day, and all the leaves - plus farm country doin it's thing. . Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

Temps in the 40's, gray skies, trees are bare or late fall deep reds and browns... looks like November...
Quite a contrast to our friends in places like TX and CA.

Saturday ride
A bunch of us retraced the WEDU/Lance Armstrong route that we did back in April except that we started in Burnet so that added another 7 to make it 107 miles total. It turned out to be a gorgeous day, with perfect temperature in the 60-70s, and great scenery. The MVP Award definitely goes to the ride leader's wife and their dog who provided SAG Support. I doubt any one of us could have finished without her help. Also, thanks to the kind gentleman at Naruna who opened up the church for us to go in and grab whatever we want from the fridge - food/water and use the restroom.

m-pal, sorry I missed your comment earlier. well, I have done hugel twice and that was more than enough of a sufferfest to last me a lifetime so not doing it anymore. actually, the start/finish point is not too far from downtown/lady bird lake so technically you could still ride over to see Stevie pal either before or after the ride...depending on your preference or I should say, how your legs feel after all that insane amount of climbing.
