Probably the same reason Peak Design did it for their new outdoor bags - get the capital and a great demand estimate before speculating

Assuming it's the same mount, the ones on my bikes are solid and I wouldn't think twice about the weight.

Cool looking design though, great way to bring something practical to bikes not designed for it.
I've taken mine fully loaded up on some gnarly single track with my full rigid. Even hit a few minor drops. Mount didn't budge. Bag was fine. Lid stayed shut. Chocolate chip cookie not so lucky.

I'm a huge fan. I've been commuting with the original and never have any issues. The easy access is the best feature. My only complaint was the size, which now has been solved!

How does the lid close? Does it use magnets, velcro, a snap or...? The videos aren't clear on this.

Any issues with using the mount on carbon bars?

Thx

It has a little machined aluminum latch that holds the lid closed. We recommend only using carbon bars designed for having things clamped in this location .

How far apart are the mounts spaced?

I have a long headlight and a large computer - wondering how tough it will be to add the second device in the quarter turn slot once the first device is in place.

Good looking bag.

I guess you could do them in the 1 and 3 slots and leave the middle empty if so? Otherwise lights it's nice to have centered haha
