I prefer metal fenders myself. SKS and PB have been fine but they seem to chip and crack after several years. I haven’t had a metal one crack yet.
I'd agree with this recommendatin. I have PDW fenders on my rain bike (Soma Pescadero). They look good, work well, and were not too challenging to install. You probably want the 700x45 version (that's what I have) but may need the 700x37. Measure your fork and stays.

pdw metal are nice and have great coverage. take the time to set them up and then it's a quick process to get them on / off at the beginning and end of the season.

I'm partial to Telecasters or Jazzmasters.

Sorry this thread title just gets me every time so eventually I had to say it.

Sounds like we're nearing consensus

I scanned their installation guide, but to confirm: PDW fenders don't need to be drilled and hardware set up from scratch, correct? That would be a dealbreaker

correct, no drilling and basic tools / time to fit to the bike. and they come with adaptors for a bike that doesn't have fender mounts on the fork or rear which may come in handy depending on the frame you're using. for context, the 37 size will fit a 30/maybe cram in a 32 depending on rim/tire combo.

Don't forget the Buddy Flaps...the rear is friendly, the front is great to keep your feet dry.
