Bib tights on amazon

I have tried a few and most recent I bought these:

They work well and can definitely ride as long as I want with them. Many factors to measure here, saddle/bike fit, ect. Overall I would recommend a try.

I have branded bibs most recent a Rapha core that lasted 2 rides before de-stiching at the pad. I could not find the receipt so didn't send it back but it was not any better.

My favorite brand is Suarez, they make some amazing quality "affordable" kits. Their best bib I like is around $100 and it's ages above many major brands.

This is the problem, a pair of bibs that have already been worn, even once, are not worth 50% off and would otherwise be a donation item. And yet I see people on here still ask way too much in the classifieds for name brand bibs that were overpriced to begin with when they were new.

Definitely depends on the buyer. I’m cheap and have no problem buying used bibs or shorts, but I’m not as concerned with hygiene in that way. Washed appropriately they’re fine going forward.

I have a couple of pair of Assos bibshorts that I acquired used and have probably worn 50 times. Love ‘em.

As good as they are, I certainly agree that they’re overpriced at MSRP, though. I’m not paying that.

As a manufacturer of USA made jerseys, I get emails all the time - weekly - from Chinese manufacturers who want to send me their samples and make clothes for me. Some of them list their clients, big names. Do I believe them? Nah. But chances are good that some of these shops are making the clothes for brands we recognize. My point is that the stuff on Amazon may not be junk at all; it may be quite good, in fact. The problem is that there is no way to tell other than to try them for yourself (unless you trust the reviews). Well, I would definitely trust a fellow Paceliner like those who posted about stuff they tried. Heck, it made me look at those listings, even though I’m not buying.

Neopro is a good price and I like the chamois much better than Black Bibs (too big, thick, ungainly).

I am curious what $$ amount we are talking about for cheaper (no-name) bibs on Amazon? A good price is relative of course. I just got some Primal bibs on sale for less than $100 and they are great for me but I have bought them before so I now what I am getting. $400 bibs? Ha. No thanks.

Edit: I see the post above for Neopro so it looks like bibs in the $30 to $60 range. I would give those a try. Sounds like something you might wear in a nasty, muddy cross race and then toss them out.

The cheap stuff I have purchased was all around $30. My backside says it was not worth it...

I posted a similar question for jerseys. I got a super cheap jersey on amazon and it's ok but not that great.
If you are going to wear other chamois underneath than i would go with inexpensive layers over to keep warm.
I try to save where I can but anything with chamois I need something decent.
My next bibs will be neopro or theblackbibs. Preference seems to depend on the individual.
So if you find something reasonable, please share! My experience is hit or miss with amazon stuff. But I have definitely gotten some good stuff. and some junk. also sizing can be wonky.

this brand is one of my favorites for inexpensive but really well-wearing and comfortable jerseys. snazzy but still subtle graphics, but that's entirely a personal preference. fit is spot on, which for me is always a challenge. a medium is not always a medium...or large a large...that kind of thing.

The Amazon brand I see people wearing around here a lot is "Sponeed."

The only reason I know this is because their logo is very prominently displayed on the backside of the bibs, so when I'm in a paceline behind someone wearing them, it's pretty obvious what they're wearing.

I've never tried them, but they apparently have some fans here in central VA. (My cheap kit of choice has been Neopro for some time, although I'm getting a bit sick of how long the zippers are on their jerseys.)

Edit: Sorry for the grump. We order a lot of Amazon stuff as a family, and most of the generic stuff has just been absolute garbage and i'm fighting to keep it minimized.

Long story short, cheap goods are often not the cost-effective move they might seem to be at first. Often, all you're doing is moving the waste problem over the horizon.

Go to aliexpress...have got some great kits there over last 5 years for a minuscule amount compared...guys will laugh about that here...but yes, check out. Most of these companies outsource their product anyhow to China...buy from the source for a tenth of the price. Amazon is pricey compared to Ali...try that.

I suggest Canari. Although mine are older, they were not pricey. And the padded pair for days I want a double pad are VG and have held up great. Only having lost the glued on markers and label partially in probably a decade. I have the padded tights, and a non padded heavier pair. And a Bell weather really heavy with a duofold under is fine to 25^. Not that I go out under 40 much anymore.

I've had good luck with Ali kit with a couple of cautions-their sizing is really different. I'm a small or medium in Euro stuff but often a large in Ali.

That said, the roadsuits are usually nice. Jerseys tend not to be aero fit but are ok. I've had only one experience with knickers, and its the only bad piece of clothing I've rec'd - the pad is placed too far forward, leaving nothing under the cheeks. Its rideable but weird.
