Bicycles are sports equipment, not jewelry.

This right here. The amount of "fetishization" of what amounts to sports equipment is absurd, and to a point, I get it: a bicycle is a slightly more appealing object than a jock strap, but both exist to serve a purpose and products like this are for those who lost sight of that.

To top it all off, this thing doesn't look especially well made to me. I'm used to seeing a high level of manufacturing precision in bicycle parts. I'm not a machinist, just a consumer, but as a consumer I don't like the pits, blobs, and surface marring I see on this part at this price point.

These things we ride called Bicycles, their Serious Importance to the Seriously Self-Important keeps getting more overblown. The marketing For Egoists, By Egoists.
Bikes are the most amazing toys in the world. We can justify and adore them without resorting to this level of exclusionary elitism. Or at least, some people can. It's a shame that such a pure object has to be aggrandized almost beyond recognition by bike industry marketers. Hi Specialized, hi Ceramic Speed, hi Absolute Black. Absolute Black will sell as many of these as they can sell. |

Wait, I thought the prior consensus on the $15,000 No 22 aero frame was that this is like a Rolex and that's OK?

Theres gotta be a blatant copy on alibaba or something like that which sells for 9.99.
Irony would be if its the actual manufacturer… |

These things should all come with a pair of bibs that say “Kick Me” on the back.
