Indeed. Just looking to modernize it with a newish fork (sold old one for a rigid PRO XCR) and maybe a 2x or 1x set up eventually. Thought about getting an
Igleheart but I think suspension wins when you're riding anything beyond fire roads. IF 26" is still kickin' . Honestly, I'm surprised by the ridiculous rocky, steep BS climbs in CT I have summited on this thing even rigid.

There are some nice bikes here. I was looking for a Ti 26 but they were either out of price range, or wrong size. Purchased this older S Works locally, circa MY 2000.

Venture back into 26 was to experiment on whether it can replace my mixed terrain flat bar bike and gravel bike. After a few rides, I think it can. I’ve got light Aspens on and want to get a light wheelset built up. I’ll order a carbon fork as well. Gravel roads around here can get pretty chunky and soft so fatter tired MTB works better for me.

Here's my beloved Igleheart hardtail. I taught Chris' son at a small school in Marblehead MA back in the day. Chris donated a custom frame to a fund-raising silent auction at the school. I spent the whole evening stalking the auction--I don't think anyone else understood the value, so I won it for a great price. It was delivered in 2002 and I haven't really wanted another MTB since. I'm kind of afraid to try out a more modern bike since I'm so attached to my Igle!

The second in my first mountain bike, purchased new in 1992. I used it to tour the Trans-am route across the country when I was 22. Now it's my commuter and errand bike.

26ers rule!

Some great bikes here! Love that IF!! I wasn't sure how much response there would be to my thread but it seems there's still a handful of 26ers still getting ridden. That's awesome. Keep them coming!!

IF ti Delux SS full rigid and Ibis Silk ti. The IF runs a Blacksheep unicrown fork, the Silk now sports a Fox F80 RLC.

spent a couple years getting beat up in NORBA events. numerous tasteful upgrades thru the years. the front and rear mechs are still original STX-RCs along with LX cantis and the dia-comp headset...nothing else of OEM config remains. oh, and the noodly Q21R fork is OEM, but the elastomers were upgraded with "hevn super-struts" springs. as shown, the bike is shockingly heavy.

every few years i mull over getting a modern 29er, but given the nonexistent off-road demands i put on this i havent (yet!) been able to justify investing in a modern replacement.
