So by using hookless rims you create a pinch flat possibility? Why would anyone use a rim that increases the occurrence of flats? That logic escapes me.

Are they 'pinch flats' or 'burps'..With tubeless, I think the later..

This is another "if youve never missed a flight you are spending too much time in airports". Rather than trying to completely eliminate the possibility of pinch flats, it might make more sense to balance acceptable probability of pinch flat- and not to mention rim damage- with tire volume and pressure considerations. Having a rounded edge gives you a bit more margin.

Decades ago a very experienced rider told me the reason I was getting so many pinch flats was because I didn’t get my ass up off the saddle. He was right. I don’t think anything‘s changed.

First it was one hook. Then it was no hooks, and now two hooks.

I'm holding out until they start putting hooks on the outside of the rim.

You forgot "mini hooks" which were a thing for a minute, maybe still.
