I feel a need to say I agree with most of the previous poster here and do not see much of those types of comments in the classifieds here.

If you have a post where you are receiving discouraging comments let a moderator know and they will likely clean up your post and admonish the poster as needed.

"I should have listened to what my mother told me"

"Why, what did she say?"

" I don't know, I wasn't listening"

My thoughts exactly. This is the way I was hoping everyone one could agree to. I haven't experienced any negativity first hand, but I do try to add positive personal experience to something someone is selling.

I had someone on here once PM me to lecture about what he thought a good asking price was for a frame set I was selling, given his vast experience, with no intention to buy. With patience, I ended up selling for my original asking price.

SNIPPED
If you feel that it is overpriced maybe PM them a link to the other source or let them know if there is anything wrong with their listing privately.

Just saying?
I think this thread just proved your point.

Skip the PM too. If you want to purchase the item, make an offer via PM and try to negotiate the price. Unless you are interested in purchasing the item, the seller’s asking price is not your business.

I've never encountered this kind of behavior around here. Users are mostly helpful and nice with their feedback.

Wow. That was some real cycling virtue signaling. Glad that doesn't happen very often around here. Poor Jeff.

I read that trainwreck concerning Jeff's classifieds. I have bought numerous parts and a frame from Jeff and everything was exactly as promised and arrived quickly. He's a good guy.

That whole thing was in very poor taste and really overblown. Even if the cranks were subject to recall, Shimano has been really easy about exchange. In any case, we're not talking Rolex watches here... it's used bicycles and parts - I don't think anyone is expecting NIB condition unless the item is explicitly listed as such.

Probably time to move on

Most of us agree this issue is the exception and us usually quickly dealt with
