Is anyone using a small flat / platform pedal ?
Like flat MTB pedals but smaller, if so what ones are you using ?? I was thinking this would be an EZ way to go as I could just use my MTB shoes, as I have flat pedals on my MTB. .

I was digging through the parts the other day and came across my old Campy SGR pedals, maybe it's time to try them again. I thought about putting one in a sock and using it as a weapon.

Since they redesigned them a number of years ago, The Crank Bros Eggbeaters have been my go-to for XC, CX and all points in-between. They last forever.
Those new Ekoi PW8 being released in the spring are pretty interesting, I've got my eye on those. The Hope XC pedals look real nice, they have double engagement like the old SPDs had. Those HT Leopards or whatever, like SPD/eggbeater crossovers, they seem kind of cool.

I use SPDs all around now. Just bought a pair of Redshift Arclight PRO Clipless Pedals on sale. Very low stack height and easily configurable from 2-sided SPD to 2-sided flat and everything in between including blinkies for my commute.
Had previously tried ATACs and Frogs, both were no bueno for various reasons. |

Does anyone else struggle with SPD's being too floaty?
I love my Shimano blue cleats on the road, but would like the idea of a walkable shoe. Except the one time I tried SPD's I felt like my heels were splaying all over the place... Any solutions? I am not aware of any 0-2 degree float SPDs. |

I prefer ATAC. They don't cramp my knees.

The Look X-Tracks, mentioned by @KonaSS, also help, due to their large platform. |

I feel like I must be the only one who uses road pedals and shoes on my gravel bike. I figure that a dirt/gravel road is a "road" so I use my road shoes and pedals.
I can't remember the last time i had to get off and walk so they work great. dave |

My only power meter is a set of Garmin Vector pedals which I rotate between bicycles. It's so useful having power data that I tend to use them on the gravel bike unless I know there will be a lot of hike a bike. |

I use the cheap SPDs from Shimano. I tend to get "off route" and end up on lots of singletrack trails rather than roads. This means that I get into sand and bang them on rocks. That way I don't feel bad when they only last a year or so before they get crunchy and I have to scoot off to the LBS for another pair.

All of my bikes have SPDs. Easy

Time atac on Cyclocross/gravel
Time cyclo on the Road+ Was lucky enough to get a couple of pairs of the cyclo before they disappeared again Also ran spd but somehow they feel too restrictive for me in my pedaling motion In the end it’s like saddles - all down to personal likes and preferences |
