I have two sets of EEs. While I was testing front brakes for my fixed commuter they by no means are as powerful or stiff in the right ways as a 9100 Dura or 7800.... not even close. I run the EEs on my race bike but you will be messing with them over time if you ride hard.

My Bingham is crying for a set, but am going to wait for Black Friday before pulling the trigger. Besides, who doesn’t love an off season project?

Which pads are those and what is a good source for them if I may ask?

I'm guessing they're Campagnolo's red pads. Available for Shimano or Campy holders.

I find your findings interesting.
Most seem to say that the EE brakes are equivalent to the Dura Ace or, if less, than only slightly less. You seem to find a big difference. It sounds like you tested them side by side. Makes me wonder whether the direct mount version (no longer in production but still available in some places) might be a better performer. Quote:

When your running a front brake only it really exposes the weaknesses. On my other bikes with both EE's not so much. Guess that's why others feel that way......

True. And I imagine that the direct mount are better still due to the short distance between the pivot and the brake shoe.

I'm pretty sure that the arm pivot positions are the same for both the "standard mount" and direct mount versions. The "standard mount" basically adds an arched yoke with a center bolt, and the arm pivots screw into the yoke. But the arched yoke may not be as stiff as screwing the pivots directly into the frame, so the "standard mount" version may have more flex (and the accompanying poorer modulation) than the direct mount version.

I'm sick of the hardware on my Campagnolo brakes rusting, I want another set of EE brakes and the silver look great!
