I know there are many fans of the Vittoria Corsa Pros here. I think AngryScientist has a Vittoria tattoo. Yes, they are very smooth and roll exquisitely. But I’ve had two of them that have lasted less than 50 miles. One shot a a very impressive sealant geyser that was borderline pornographic. So…not these.

Conversely, my experience with the Panaracer Gravel King Slicks is that they’re pretty sluggish (at least in the 32c flavor).

Any other options out there? Thanks!

I have not. But I know Panaracer is really hyping them. FWIW, the SS + are the only gravel tires I’ll use for mixed dirt/asphalt rides. They’re superb.

A buddy of mine really like his 700x28 Hutchinson tubeless tires. He says they're the easiest tires to fit, are lightweight @220g and appear to be very durable. What's not to like?!

Yup, my experience too.
Veloflex Evo Cora TLR is the most exquisite riding tires I have come across. But they last as long as fallen ice cream on a July sidewalk.

Jeeze! That's ridiculous! Maybe I have been (very) lucky. I am sporting 4 different sets with zero punctures or issues. I don't even have any slits like I would with gp5ks or Michelin Power series.

I did have the Corsa EVO TLRs set up as tubeless for my first set (And first ever road tubeless setup) Note that if you do go tubeless, the color will change to a bit more golden/brown from the sealant (which I personally love). Otherwise they stay a very light color with tubes. I run all my sets now with TPU tubes.

Corsa Pros are kinda fragile but I've had decent luck. Corsa Pro Control are fantastic, Pogi used to roll these quite a bit, but they do "feel" slower. Conti 5000 TR are durable and fast but don't have the supple feel of the Vittorias.
Pirelli P Zero Race TLRs are pretty darn good as well, similar to Contis IMHO. If you can go 33mm and are proficient with difficult TL installs the Challenge Strada Bianca Pro is supple and fast. So.....lots of great tire options out there.

I wonder if it is the Blackbird? They seem a quality tire and come in black or brown. Some of the sizes and colors are heavily discounted as pairs on excel. I was thinking of trying the black 30mm.

Another huge fan of Veloflex Corsa Evo (non TLR). The 320 tpi makes them the smoothest, quietest riding tire I've ridden in over 45 years. So under rated and overlooked. Yeah they don't last really long, but the ride is SO GOOD ... you will be blown away.
