Sad if true. I, too, join the Vittorio Corsa comments as a good clincher substitute, at least in the 25mm range.

Is Veloflex the last company to make tires in Italy and not Asia?

Wow! I really hope this isn't true. I discovered the Corsa EVOs this year and by far and away my favorite tire. Damn! Maybe it's time to stock up

The box and tyres needs to say made in italy - the earlier versions were made in france under contract by hutchinson/michelin and were serviceable but their in house made stuff is in a class of its own

Thanks, appreciate the info — I’ll give the non-tubeless a try.

I picked up a few pairs of 28c corsa evo. Should last me awhile. I'm not ready to switch just yet.

This is a bummer. They made great tires, both tube & tubeless were A+ IMO.

Sad news. Pretty amazing that anyone - big or small player - is still able to manufacture tires in Italy/Europe instead of Asia though. Kudos to them for hanging on this long.

So now I’m wondering what the shelf life is on these tires. Loving the Veloflex Corsa 32s on my new Hampsten.

Others here may know better but from what I've read as long as they are stored in cool dark place no issue with storage up to 5-6 years. I store my stock of tires (mostly tubular) in a Rubber Maid bin in my shop.

Nice discussion about aging tubulars in this thread (from 2006!), especially 11.4's detailed explanation:

Getting close to 19 years ago. God I love this forum...

Aging tubulars only works on actual rubber, which we don get. Unless you have 300$ limited Hutchinsons or something from a pro team.
