I tell you guys, Keith's bad accident really rattled me.

Perfectly healthy one moment, life in shambles the next.

This is another one.

I really love riding my bike, but the risks are real.

I'm pulling hard for some good news out of this one.

Will keep him in my thoughts and prayers for a full recovery, but too many seriously injured cyclists are on my list recently.

I too am getting rattled by the number of people I know or read about injured while cycling.

Agreed! I'm headed out for a ride in a bit (during the insanity of rush hour) and will have his accident on my mind as I do so.

JuanJ here on the forum went to see him today. Gregg is still heavily sedated. I'm going to see him tomorrow or Wednesday and will provide an update to the group once I hear more. I'll communicate your well-wishes to him. Thanks for those!

Texbike

Same, and I don’t know anyone on here in person. Plus the accident with the hockey players recently I haven’t been road biking as much lately. Hoping for some good news here.

Dear Paceline,

I saw Gregg/Seramount today and he is recovering from surgery due to injuries suffered to his cervical spine. He has experienced some degree of paralysis, but because he is under strong sedation, I am hoping he is going to regain function/mobility as the drugs get ramped down. He was alert and recognized me when I arrived, but because he is on a ventilator tube, we were not able to talk. We were able to communicate a little when he squeezed my hand in response to a few questions. I did not stay long because what he needs most is to rest.

I don't want to sound alarmist about his condition, and I did not talk to the nurses (and this is confidential anyway since I am not family), but Gregg is going to need our prayers, good thoughts, positive karma, and love to get through this.

Gregg is truly one of the Paceline OGs. I met him many years ago through Mike, aka Texbike. The first thing Gregg said to me when he saw my custom Alliance, which I had not cleaned in a while, was "Erik (from Alliance) would not be happy seeing the way you treat his bike." ***! We somehow managed to become good friends after that introduction. He loves to ride--I mean LOVES to ride. He often goes months without skipping a day of riding, and he has ridden 10,000 miles in a year at least once. He is a straight-shooting, no-b.s. kind of guy. And when he decides you're his friend, be prepared for loyalty and good company.

I will see him again later this week, and with his permission, I'll provide updates.
