The pix are so blurry I can't even tell if it is lugged or tigged. Pix of the rear dropouts would help too.

My Atlanta also has the "S" on the Bottom Bracket casting, visible from
above. Your bike looks like it has the chain hanger which was stock on Atlanta. Custom Atlantas could be ordered without the tubing decals and American flag logo on the seat tube but the placement of the chainstay decal indicates a possible repaint as noted by Dave Thompson I can't imagine anyone would bother to swage the down tube and seat tube just to counterfeit a Serotta. It has to be real IMO. Interesting side note: My Atlanta has a similar paint scheme with the fade in the opposite direction! Some years ago I called the factory about an 84/85 (?) Serotta I bought used in Santa Rosa. A Serotta Nova, for sure, but no S/N on BB. A lady at the shop back then, Lori, said there were some frames that left w/o a S/N. She suggested to check the fork tube; sometimes a S/N could be found there. No S/N on my fork either but not a worry; a wonderful frame that carried me many miles.

Thank you
All, thanks so much for the info and insight. Except for the color, mine is a near match to VF's Atlanta. I am thinking it is an Atlanta that was made around 2000 and since repainted with not perfectly placed decals. For peace of mind, I am also going to assume it is unstolen.

Looks like an Atlanta, the top tube will tell for sure.
If it's round at both ends, it's an Atlanta. Colorado top tubes are ovalized at the head tube. The one on my Colorado is slightly over 1" tall, and measures about 1.17" wide. I've seen original Serottas that you could hardly read the serial number through the paint. If yours wasn't stripped before the repaint it could be completely filled in. |

The S# should be located on the bottom of the bottom bracket about 3/16ths" in from the drive side edge.

The s/n will also be on the on the fork steerer if its the original fork.
Oops nevermind, I see the Reynolds fork. 1" Reynolds is pretty desireable... |
