My CK hubs have been flawless, and very simple to service. I have never heard of durability issues with them, maybe others have but my experience has been great. To be fair my hubs are only 18 months old and have clocked up under 12k km (7300 miles).

One could always send a set of the boring black hubs to this guy. He would sort them out me thinks. ;-)

pantoparts might reject the hubs purely based on them being made after 1983.
DT Swiss jumped on the oil slick bandwagon, so a pseudo-retrogrouch like myself would hope that they'd release something more classic looking. And why DT Swiss? Because of their ease of self serviceability and ubiquity of parts versus other companies. Hope RS4s are probably my next option. |

Hope hubs don't get a lot of mentions but they are fantastic. A little harder to overhaul than some others (unless you have their tools!) but mine have been super solid.

DT are my fav, all-time go to hub. Amazing and bullet proof. I had CK hubs. I will never own them again. I live in PDX and fully want to support a local, US biz. But YES to their headsets. |

Agreed - and their silver hubs are pretty. I love a good Hope wheelset!

I'll chime in..I'd say WI are 'superior' to DT and CK..for no other reason than the titanium FHB....and colors.... CK, IMHO, are WAY to complicated for something as simple as a rear hike hub plus they have abandoned Campagnolo all together.. I'll mention Aivee..REALLY nice hubs. AND since we are in the hub mentioning biz. Even Bitex and Velocity are great hubs..shows that a hub doesn't need to be watch innards complicated and Ferrari expensive to be a good bike hub.

I actually do have a set of silver DT 350 hubs that came with my M1600 mtb wheels.
These I believe were made specially for Wiggle. Can post pics if you guys are interested |

Hugi used to make silver hubs before DT bought them out. I bet if DT had a special run at a premium they would sell them all pretty quickly.
When I want silver, I just get Hopes. |

Anyone have friends at DT Swiss? Tell them we need these silver hubs!

White is using bearings with better seals on the outboard side compared to a few years ago. I agree the collar arrangement feels sketchy but have to say I’ve never had one come loose in tens of thousands of miles. (Nor have I ever found one seized when swapping bearings.)

I have owned CK, I9, WI, Onyx, and DT Swiss.
The CK required way too much maintenance relative to the others. And apart from the sound, fury, and bling of these hubs, they offered not much gain relative to the others. But the best (least maintenance, reliability, and plain-ole bombproof-ness) nothing could beat the DT Swiss. Love DT Swiss hubs. Wish they came in anodized colors. BTW, did you guys see this? Quote:
