It can take a few rides to adapt. I think the pushing is caused by the rider pointing their toes and pedalling in a "quad dominant" style, rather than spinning, a sign of saddle that's possibly too high.

I've always pedaled heels low and concentrated on keeping RPM around 75 - 80

God I hate stem boners...almost as much as ski slope saddles. The Hover bars will take me right into the sweet spot.
