Beautiful^

I did the local club's gravel ride called The Dirty Apple, mostly in Westchester.

Did the long route called "rotten to the core."

About 64 miles, 5,600' of climbing.

I signed up for the Dirty Apple Ride, but ended up selling my entry to another forum member. I ended up riding out to Oneonta yesterday to watch Khabib vs Conor and riding home this am.

Might have to try the Dirty Apple next year!

That would be me! I rode the 50 miler, ended up to be about 53 miles. Some nice roads, rest stops, and people. It was a little 'moist', but not too bad. I was glad to have nice fat rubber for a couple of the roads. I had to take evasive action twice to avoid running over snakes, weird! I only stopped once for pictures, on the dam, Seems like a lot of people stopped there.

SPP: Where did you go after you rode through the post ride lunch spot?

Why do my pictures come in rotated? No matter what orientation they are when I upload them, they end up like this.

So far i really like it a lot. I went in with the expectation that the bike would be harsh and too Stiff. Its not. Its more forgiving than the zanc mini max i used to have, and its pretty smooth on the rough stuff.

The responsiveness of the drivetrain is impressive. i feel like this is the most responsive bike to power in my stable. It really goes on the flats, which is my weakness.

I think i will like it pretty well as i get to know it.

and this build right now is 15lbs 9ozs. So its reasonably svelte as well.

and OK oK, next year if fire season behaves, ill get something casual together for a paceline ride. My kitchen will be remodelled, the garden will be in better shape than this year, and the guest house will be ready for stinky visitors, and the bike shop will be fully stocked.

I was out riding through the neighborhoods near Fort Hunt today and found someone seriously getting ready for Halloween. They've turned their entire yard into a Pet Cemetery.

about 80 miles in to a century ride. out of our group of 5, i got the only flat. winner!

It started raining about 5 weeks ago here in Central Texas...and it rained, and it rained...it finally stopped a few hours ago. I knew we gonna get some really dramatic sunset and even though it was only a 30-minute ride, I am glad I went out and enjoyed the crisp fresh air. It was nice to have a bad-weather bike that is close to the door that I can just grab and go.
