Saw GT and the Destroyers at the Main Event in Providence back in the day. The show was so driving and loud that bits of plaster was falling from the ceiling. Great show! W. |

A couple nights ago I went down the youtube rabbit-hole of guitarist Lee Ritenour's work. He's a seriously talented musician -- he's been an A-List, triple-scale studio session player for as long as he's been a solo artist -- and always surrounds himself with equally talented players, so the music is always top-notch from a performance perspective
...but it does hover dangerously close to "Fuzak" or "Smooth Jazz" most of the time. So now I've got his signature tune "Rio Funk" ingrained in my head, an intractible earworm! Here's just one rendition, in case you want to join me in my suffering: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIqY9Ivntfo |

Happened to see her at Outside Lands and it was fantastic! I’d never heard the song or of her before she came on stage. Wow! Three middle aged guys in a sea of pink clad twenty something’s all singing in unison was a surreal experience!

Somehow, neither I nor anyone else posted about John Mayall's passing in July.

Well....I had put my Technics direct drive turntable up after getting my Thorens TD 1500. But I missed the automatic repeat function of the Technics for times I'm working around the house and want to play music without making sure I'm right there when an album ends. So I got the Technics back out only to discover I had messed up the calibration a bit so the repeat function wasn't working right. Finally got around to researching and fixing that today. Now I'm falling back in love with Grace Slicks Dreams LP, so good!
