I've been "rediscovering" Depeche Mode lately. Always liked their music but never had any. Recently picked up 3 different SACD's and can't quit listening to them. Sounds great on my modest but decent home system.

+1! Some friends and I just did a hard listen on Depeche Mode. Check out this playlist of some of their greatest:

Mildly disappointing Tiny Desk concert for reference.
Yeah I agree - the format isn't kind if the lead vocalist is more of an entertainer than a singer. Santigold rocked it pretty well so it can be done....

On the other hand Camilla Cabello was great on Tiny Desk and I am definitely not a fan of her music. You never know what you'll get when you click play with Tiny Desk.

Thanks for the Santigold link! So good.

I like how Tiny Desk exceeds my NPR expectations, artist-wise. I expect Aimee Mann to play there, and she’s great. Lizzo? IDLES? These are not artists I expect in that setting, and there they are.

Tiny Desk has so many gems!

If I had an ounce of musical talent (or the courage to explore it), I would resurrect the band, ‘The Make-Up’.

Listen to them and I dare you not to making erratic shrieking sounds - so primal. Post-punk at its best/worst!

C’mon Let’s Spawn!

And lastly (for today) a song I can remember the lyrics to. Ha.

I’ve been jamming to Billy Strings recently. LOTS of cool stuff!

We saw Journey in concert a few months back here in Austin and were fortunate enough to catch a special performance with Gregg Rolie joining them for the Austin show. It was incredible and a reminder of how good Journey’s early stuff was!

Tranquility Bass

I recently got turned on to this album while watching a Darko review of some speakers. Never heard of it even though it came out like 25yrs ago. very eclectic mix of music genres...different but I like it.

The track "La La La" has been stuck in my head...though I don't mind.
