A Junkie XL remix of Elvis. I read that they're the first outfit approved to remix an Elvis song outside of the Elvis Foundation (or whatever it's called). Looks and sounds pretty cool.

There are other versions with Duane Allman and Eric Clapton. But this song is the one by Cowboy,

The xx. Crystalised.

Dark, subtle, moody.

This isn't quite the version you'll find on your local alternative radio station, if you have, one, but I've found a lot of great stuff on KEXP, from all over the world.

The last verse where they simultaneously sing two prior verses is... well, you decide.
Glaciers have melted to the sea, I wish the tide would take me over
I've been down on my knees, and you just keep on getting closer

Things have gotten closer to the sun, and I've done things in small doses
So don't think that I'm pushing you away when you're the one that I've kept closest

The whole first album is great, second was a little more "pop" but I will have to dive back in and check out any newer stuff they've released.

KEXP and Tiny Desk are both faves of mine on youtube.

The Chameleons definitely make it into my all-time top ten even if they sound a little rusty at times during this KEXP performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYWTQdpdKEw

At least they don't sound as rusty as the god-awful U2 performance just posted by Tiny Desk. Lordy.

Someone on another forum posted this video when news of bassist Ray Shulman (who mostly plays violin in ths clip) passing away was announced, and now I can't get it out of my head.

Tiny Desk is weird because rock bands don't get a chance to rock. I saw The Beths recently live and apparently somewhere along their current US tour they did a Tiny Desk concert.

If The Beths studio sound is the baseline, live they're 120% and behind the Tiny Desk they were 75%. The band switched things up for the space and they suffer for it.

Mildly disappointing Tiny Desk concert for reference.
