Now you can form your own opinion, at least to the extent this photo allows. I didn't capture a shot of the other ornament on the lower part of the property.

What is your impression, seeing it from different angles, etc. live?

That dark columnar fence is bizarre, imo. Planar and lighter would be so much more simple in that context.

Beautiful trees.

PS: have you had a chance to look for that FOG house in MDR yet?
The photo doesn't do it any favors. I agree it's not hugely complementary to the house, but I also think it adds a small bit of whimsy to the very rectilinear form of the building. I imagine that a shot from the lower edge of the property (there's a tennis court there), looking up at the house with the sculpture on the far left edge of the frame, would be more flattering.

Re: the fence, you might feel differently if the shot took in more of it. It does a stairstep up the lot and the alternating dark/light of the fence and pillars kind of mirrors the colors and surfaces of the house. If by 'planar' you mean solid, I think that would give the house a less welcoming appearance.

I haven't been down MDR way yet, my riding usually takes me north…will try before the end of the month.

This guy?

It's on a formerly blighted stretch of Rowena, a few doors west of Edendale Grill.
