Going back in October for the awesome little Blackpot Festival. Cajun, creole, zydeco, TexMex, honky tonk, folk... all in a restored/historic village. Three stages - main, schoolhouse, church.

And some just plain crazy stuff as well.

It used to be in Acadian Village on the west side of Lafayette. Now it's in Vermillionville, around the northeast side, near the airport.

All of the entries in the cooking contest must be cooked en un chaudiere noire - a black pot. Cast iron, baby. Gumbo, cracklins, gravy, etc.

Highly recommended.
