A nice gift for Trump and Kushner and their real estate developer friends.
A program costing 100x what the derisively named “Obama Phone” costs.

Some really gnaw at the fact that the poor might receive something from the gov’t, then remains silence when something a lot more egregious happens (benefitting the really rich and costing 100x)

That is a lot of money for USPS. I don't understand why we have mail delivery 6 days a week still. Most mail does not need to be that timely. Also, email has eliminated so much mail.

Two or three days a week should be adequate.

GM no longer makes the Volt.

You want to tell that to the amazon shoppers and ebayers who freak out if they have to wait more than 3 days? I don't think so.

NYT: House leaders will try at noon to pass the measure by voice vote, but they could fail if Mr. Massie follows through on his threats to object. That would mean a majority of the chamber would have to cast votes in person.

Cutting USPS services is a surefire way to grind the economy to a halt, yet here we are again discussing that.

As essential as a service gets for the people and business.

I mean you can learn a skill on youtube for free and start a business and make money and sell the business and have more money. Opportunities are everywhere. Making money on those opportunities is another subject.
Every single business out there was started by a human. I have yet to see a robot create a business.
Every purchase is made by a human. I have yet to see a non human buy something.
So yes, planet earth is still the land of opportunity, not limited to the U.S.

In the old days, they would tell Massie that his new offices were in a broom closet somewhere if he didn't play along.

Of course not. To an up-and-coming, pull-itself-up-by-a-bootstrap, entrepreneurial unicorn of a disease, the U.S. is certainly a land (if not the land) of great opportunities.

Whatever faults one may find with Covid-19, surely one can applaud it for being the platonic ideal of the Horatio Alger success story.

whatever his faults may be (and they are legion, to be sure), could one imagine LBJ countenancing this sort of behavior?
