Stupid, stupid, dumbass, stupid song.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3tTcl1DJw8

It won't get out of my HEAD!

I don't even like this song, but it was on a channel my wife was listening to, and my brain picked it up and won't stop repeating it! Why can't I have Brubeck constantly running in my head instead of this slop?

Different strokes, for different folks...

Remember what Sly said...

"...And so on and so on
And scooby dooby dooby
Oh sha sha
We got to live together"

Friday. Time for a little Steve'n'Seagulls.

Banjo, anvil, accordion, mandolin, spoons, upright bass, bib overalls, and a solid sense of humor... what's not to like?

A couple nights ago I watched this concert by the Frankfort Radio Big Band playing John Beasley's arrangements of old Return To Forever tunes. It was modestly engaging, interesting to hear a big band tackling music that was originally written and recorded by a smaller, much more nimble ensemble.

And so for the last two days I've had two pieces from this concert running through my head incessantly: "You're Everything" and "Vulcan Worlds". Ironically -- or perhaps, not surprisingly -- the versions stuck on auto-repeat in my head are not Beasley's big band versions, but the original RTF recordings from the early 1970s.
