Went out last week and did approximately half of a modified version of the Stagecoach 400 route. I skipped sections that I've done recently and did not ride into the night and it still absolutely kicked my ass. This weekend was probably the end of the season that it's safe to be in the desert in daytime and any time of year, Coyote Canyon was taxing even at 28-46. The bottom of that climb is a nasty thing called the Willows, where I got stuck in the reeds and creek for a couple hours until I found the route out.

Utmost respect to those that can race all 400 miles straight through. IMO much more difficult than the longer ultra distance road racing I've done. I need to upgrade many skills before I try to link the whole route.

Dude......Respect. I too am a desert rider and recently picked up https://www.amazon.com/TechNiche-Int.../dp/B00DU7GXLU .....works well in our environments.
