Enough of the tropical shots...

A ride in the Northland, just as Spring is finally getting ready to really pop.

Those paths are even rougher and more rutted than they look. Have become a fan of those Paris-Roubaix tires... 27 mm on the label, 30 mm in the flesh... but yeah, tough to mount the first time. Worth it.

thwart said something about more tropical pictures so here's one from back in March on a lunch day ride. The water color was lovely that day. BTW, I'm on the right in this picture.

Stole away to the mountains today to celebrate another semester in the books.

First stop, Sundance.



Still snow on the tops of the mountains, but not too much on the road (just in the shade).



The best part about riding in these mountains this time of year is that the road is still closed to cars. I only have photos, but the most striking part of the whole day was the silence in the trees at the top. Nothing but the wind in the trees, birds, and the sound of my wheels rolling along the tarmac.



Rolling home after a great day in the saddle--I love this place.

Rode with my old pals this morning. The route was 57 miles. I rode from home to the start point so added another 33+ miles both ways. In the end, got in about 90 total. Gorgeous day out - 70-80s degrees, low wind day, blue sky, out in the Texas Hill Country.

What type of headset and stem set up is on the Lemond?

It's actually a refurbished frameset with a conversion to a threadless fork... I bought it from the gentleman who did all the beautiful work himself, but then lost interest in the project afterwards. It's just an FSA headset (works fine, haven't seen the need to replace it) and a ControlTech stem.

So that's a GL fork with the steerer replaced? The finish work on the frame looks really nice.

Yep. Not sure I would've done the same thing (I prefer the original version), but he did a great fabrication job on the steerer.
