Lately I have a few songs from Matt "Guitar" Murphy's album "Way Down South" rolling around in my head.

My grandson, who is almost 15, is for some reason just enamored with WW2 era stuff for at least the past 5 years, he's read every single WW2 book he could find, watches WW2 in color on Netflix, like the cars of that era etc. So last week he came over with this new CD he bought...Bobby Darin?? Yeah, a 15 year old into swing bands from back in those days! So, we put it on my stereo system so he could hear it like a concert, and he loved every moment of it. Who is this kid?? There were only a few that I liked, I'm my grandson's reverse, I get into some metal, not him! But the weird thing, there were a few of his songs that weren't that bad at all, one in particular was ahead of the times in fact like Mack the Knife and Splish Splash where he got a tad rocky, I recalled those songs once I heard them, but I hadn't heard them in many years, so I forgot about them. My grandson likes Frank Sinatra, and others, and the more modern Brian Setzer Orchestra too, but that's that era of big band music he likes. Not sure if teens are going back to that era of big band or if it's just him?

Rosanne Cash
I’m not a country music fan although of late I have been enjoying a more country vibe to what I listen to. Recently I discovered Rosanne Cash and can’t get her music out of my head….I Especially like the multi Grammy winning album The River and the Thread.

I've been listening to the songs of Nilla Pizzi. Here's an Italian children's song that I loved when I was little and hadn't heard in many years, "Papaveri E Papere" (Poppies and Ducklings): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2lqfekbQz9M.

Relearning the bass these days, Whole Lottta Love from ‘Zep is stuck in my mind, basic chords, but the fingers don’t like the way they are strung together……may have to wait, as the Vegas weather this week is in the low 70’s……pretty sure a few days of 70 plus miles will help me get those chords down!

Today it's been a non-stop Natalie Imbruglia marathon in the house as I worked. Something calming about her voice and music.
